According to 1 Cor. 13 we bring the contradictions of our humanity before you, our improper handling of the anointing and gift you put within us. You are God… all knowing, independent of all other factors, and all powerful… the author and finisher of our faith.  You are love…it’s origination, representation, and authentication. Our faith is rooted and grounded in the standard of your love.  So we come to you admitting that our best effort and attempts fail in comparision to what you desire, plan, and will for our living and loving. We are not consistently truthful…patient and kind. We are often, almost always rude, self-seeking, easily angered, keeping record of wrongs and we do delight in evil.   Forgive us for bringing ourselves to the love moment without placing total surrender and dependence upon you in the love equation. Your desire, will, and plan for our living and loving is in the realm of Always. Always trust! Always hope! Always persevere! Forgive us for self reliance and effort that has hindered the reception of what YOU purposed we’d give and represent. Forgive us for the hindrances, stumbling blocks we’ve been in the lives of others as well as ourselves. We acknowledge that attempting love opposite your design and example is wrong; antithetical to your way. We’ve missed it and ask you to restore understanding and knowledge to our application,acclimation,and appropraition of love…change the way we mirror or exude you to others in both our living and loving. Help us to see love as the ultimate assignment of life.

Father God…we are invested in  our relationship with you, ourselves and others and we choose to be accountable for what our love expression exudes and teaches the world about you. Your word says that they will (the world) know us by the manner in which we love. We want to live and love in the way that honors and brings glory to you.  So we submit our mannerisms to you and ask you to lead and guide us into all truth. May we be able to identify the difference between our human effort and your example and implement love advantageously as we live and love in your likeness. We surrender our mindset to the truth of your Word that is despite what we feel or think in relation to love, you, ourselves, or others. Purge us from the defense mechanisms we use to prevent authentic intimate exchange. Rid us of our darkened perception of the opposite sex…the things we claim to know about their motives and mannerisms.  Help us to produce beyond the knowing and enter into the realm of doing and becoming your expression of love. Love done right happens in you! It is possible and it is within our grasp.  May we choose to see and become one with its limitless possibility in the name and matchless power of Jesus.

Holy Spirit comfort all that is broken, hurt, and needs to be repaired…through the work of the Word transform our mind and hearts to the perfect will of God. Be the sword you are… we agree… that we need you to cut away those things that are not like God…mindsets, mannerisms and motives bias to our need, desire, and inability to love without the memory of failed attempts yesterday. Fix our hearts Lord Jesus. According to Psalms  86:11 give us an undivided heart before you.  Make us whole so we can replicate the love you give and show us on a continuum.  Help us love today without the burden, barrier, or barricade of what did or didn’t happen when we attempted to love and be loved yesterday.  May the picture of love you paint become and remain the aspiration of all our efforts. Grow us up in love!  We activate the free flow of authentic Love present within us  but not presented whole outside of us. We submit the manner in which we live and love, experience life and love, and attempt to serve and honor you through our human effort of living and loving. We acknowledge that our confession of faith and love is buffeted by contradiction . We offer up to you our perception of ourselves, the perception we want others to see/feel concerning us. We release false, fake, fraudulent tendencies and practices for authentic, whole, and complete Love as your word defines. Forgive us for maintaining the right to exercise and experience it in our own human effort; according to our limited understanding and ability without your Spirit. We have operated in and from our own understanding and have failed to become your instrument of love.  You know the truth of our existence despite the presentation, skill, assertion and our best attempt made in our humanity. We can’t be or produce the love factor you intend without succumbing to the complete finished work of the Holy Spirit manifesting as a reality in our lives continually. Help us to submit entirely, to forgo our preconceived notion of what life and love should be.

Bring about the change we need and Your desire for our living and loving. Reconcile our proclamations and our practice to your design. Help us to become and be your expression of Love. May we represent you well? Break all perpetual cycles of failure, of love-less-ness in our lives. Forgive us for missing the target of righteousness; for the presence of sin that reroutes our effort to false symbolic representations. Reset our love trajectory, put us back on course. Remove the gong effect from our existence…the blaring sound of contradiction. May we no longer be an offense or a disturbance in the atmosphere bringing our own agendas and insistence that we get and do things our way.  Holy Spirit fine tune the sound of our love…make it melodious and harmonic with God’s will and purpose for our lives.  We present to you our sound in accordance to the warning of verse one. “If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal” (NIV). Father God thank you for loving us always, thank you for continual opportunities to be and become love as YOU have established, set forth, and designed.  You are the standard of love…what it is, should be and how it should look.  As we live and love in your likeness empower, educate, and enhance our ability to love and be love as you so desire, design, and designate.
