Significance in the Struggle

Just a reminder “There Is Significance in the Struggle”! It’s so easy to live and love magnifying “the struggle” without ever acknowledging, appreciating or accepting the significance. Strength is gained in the struggle. We learn how to bare the weight/wait of life and love, how to balance His strength and our weakness and how to support eachother in the process

How interesting it was to read the commentary on this past weeks winter storms. Instead of observing the significance of the struggle many of us choose to find humor in their misfortune. Southern State’s cities were shut down as a result of two inches of snow, iced roads and being UNPREPARED for the winter struggle that is common to Northern State’s cities. Many Northerners made light of the situation because they failed to recall the times when storms hit and they were not prepared. They grew numb to the panic and pending pressure of having to respond Johnny On the Spot. How harsh, uncaring, judgmental and condescending many comments were until we learned that children were stuck at school, mother’s and father’s were unable to return safely to their homes and had to take refuge at area business establishments. Are we really that insensitive, indifferent and desynthesized to life and love beyond our narcissism?

The significance of a two inch struggle is just as real, valid and life changing as that of twenty feet or so. Struggles are a common occurrence amongst us all. We all encounter some type of storm. These struggles/storms have significance we need only to search it out. Maybe, if nothing else it teaces us how to be strong and support eachother when life on life terms happens. It could be that numeric qualification does not determine humanity’s plight or lifes plausibility. Because we ourselves survived “much more” is there no room for empathy, concern and compassion? What’s funny about spinning out of control, flipping over or crashing into another when life for whatever reason demands or comes to a screeching halt? Is the loss of innocence a laughing matter? Should we continue to make light of not being prepared and having to learn what and how to do because we have no other choice?

It’s funny how we forget how it feels to fall victim to circumstances. We fail to remember the commonality of humanity’s plight (we’re all living and loving needing the significance of God’s grace and mercy…His unfailing love. Just because you went through it before and survived it (abuse, domestic violence, mental health issues, financial ruin, physical sickness, death of loved ones and other sudden disasters, storms or personal struggles) doesn’t mean you should find sollace or entertainment in another persons season struggle. Time and chance happens to us all. There is purpose in everything…never miss the opportunity to learn the significance of being PREPARED to lend your strength and support when it is needed…in the struggle~AntTBri
